Meet the Designer

Micuir – literally “my leather” – was founded in 2017 by Elena Peña, a Madrid designer who worked in fashion accessories for years before launching her own label of shoes and bags.

Every design is hers, drawn in the Madrid showroom and made by hand in small artisan workshops in Alicante, Spain’s leather-craft heartland. Each pair passes through more than 44 pairs of hands, on lasts created exclusively for the brand, and the logo stays quietly on the inside rather than on show. The leathers are natural hides recycled from the food industry.

The Gaucho is MICUIR's take on the western boot, and it has real character. The chocolate leather has snake-embossed panels on the instep, heel and shaft, tone-on-tone embroidery and a chain with silver studs. A 7 cm heel, a micro-gel insole and leather side pull tabs make them comfortable and easy to put on. Handmade in Spain and delivered in a cotton dust bag.

Styling tip: Wear them with a flowing dress, or with straight jeans and a chunky knit.
